When we discuss the existing attractions in the district of Sinjai will not be endless. This time the author wants to discuss one of the existing attractions in Sinjai. Archaeological Park Batupake Gojeng. As soon as this place is named. located in the subdistrict of biringere sub district of sinjai north,
sinjai regency is located approximately 2 km from downtown sinjai.
Located on a hill with a height of 125 meters from sea level. A garden filled with shady trees makes this place comfortable to relax while enjoying the breeze. On the eve of the afternoon, it is always visited by local people or tourists who come from far to visit the mainstay destination of Sinjai. This ancient park is unique because it contains historical value that has been thousands of years old.
The uniqueness of archaeological altitude and natural formation is an unsolved mystery. When the Rescue Excavation was conducted in 1982, this area discovered various types of cultural heritage objects (BCB) such as ceramics and fragments, small ceramic fragments of ceramic blue underglast and buvidae teeth, estimated from the Ming Dynasty, fossils wood and coffin. Archaeological Park has its own historical value which has three limbs like megalithic remains, artifacts, and ekofak. Megalithic left is evident with the existence of hollow stone diameter is very varied between 15 cm to 70 cm. However, in general the size of the hole diameter ranges 25 cm, 40 cm, and 50 cm with a depth of 35-60 cm which is the dominant size randomly and arranged, such as one large hole surrounded by a number of small holes or a series of small holes flanked by two large holes, a pair of parallel holes of the same or different size, and so on. Other archaeological remains with the Menhir-menhir small measuring 12-47 cm high, wide between 20-23 cm. while megalithic relics are most important with the presence of natural bundles that have varying sizes. And left behind a square carved stone that is the focal point of a variety of other carved stones. One of the largest perforated rocks (the largest) is still believed by the people around the Batu Pake Gojeng site as the former grave of the first King of Batu Pake Gojeng Kings.Evidence of archeological heritage has been trimmed made with path as many as 120 stairs to the hill and made the location of natural and cultural attractions. Inside the site area of various trees we can encounter such as cypress (casuarinas sp), cenrana trees that are quite old, kalumpang (Stercuilla), coconut (Cocos Nucivera), Cambodia (Plumera accuminata), Acacia (Casia sp), and Bougenville (Bougenvillea spectabilis). Sinjai district government continues to add existing facilities in this location such as the renovation of custom homes of Archaeological Park as well as other facilities such as old baths believed to be the place of baths of kings, refreshing kid with children's playgrounds such as swings and gliding, Gazebo as a place to chat with tourists who enjoy the panorama of Sinjai city and its surroundings as well as various other facilities. In this place also visitors are pampered with free Wi-fi facilities provided by the Government of Sinjai District.From the top of Bukit Batupake Gojeng you can see the city center of Sinjai Regency with such beautiful natural scenery backed by the green development of mangrove forest sinjai (Mangrove Forest) in the village Tongke-tongke kec. Sinjai Timur and lined up nine islands (a group of small islands) that still belong to Sinjai district.
